my name

Lola, Penny, and Sherman explained how they got their names in their last post, and I'm going to steal their idea and tell my own story! Although it's not very exciting or interesting. Oh well. Before my girl even contemplated getting another doggin, she was thinking of names. She originally planned to name her next dog Pea Pod or Belly or something equally absurd. However, when she saw me, I apparently did not look like a Belly or a Pea Pod. THANK GOODNESS, huh?!

The first thing that came out of her mouth was "Tadpole" for some inexplicable reason. She's very strange like that. A few days later she added "Pomegranate" as a middle name for no discernable reason. So yes, Tadpole Pomegranate is my name. And no one knows why. I guess it kinda fits, because it's a slightly weird name for a dog and I'm a slightly weird specimen of a dog.

I'm also Tad, Taddy-wack, Taddly-winks, Little Chinese Man, Taddles, and Taddy-cake. And Mister when I'm in trouble. (and T-Pole for those Prison Break fans out there....) My sister calls me IT, but that's just because she's old and crabby and mean, you know. If you want to read her story, you can check it out in her own words. I'm warming you, though - she's kinda crabby today (as usual).

We think Tadpole is very fitting...and very unique. Mom has about 100 names all ready for our new brother or sister (although Sherman is still waiting for the little white one to leave!)

Thanks for sharing your story!

If you lived here, you'd also be called Taddlewinski or Tadachuckski or Tadalulu or Ta-DA! Sophie has a million of them too.

I like the name tadpole, especially since some people call Frenchies froggies. So, Tadpole is cool.

Thanks for the warning, Fig is grumpy, well she does have to contend with your cuteness.

Hey Tadpole,
We really like your name! & your nick names too, tee hee. Snickers is named after her doggie Mama cause her name was Snicker's. So they named Snickers after the candy bar spelling. Her name is D & L's Snickers Delight! Mama's first wire fox terrier girl was named Ripley after Sigourney Weaver in the Alien movies. Mama is a sci-fi freak!
Luv & Wirey Hugs!

Yeah, at least you have a unique name. Every other boy dog we meet is called Oscar, sheesh. I was already called Oscar when I came to live with mum & dad & as I already knew my name they decided not to change it.

Thank goodness she didn't name you Pea Pod that wouldn't fit into the band. Tad fits you very well.
