bones and dog parks!

We were gone this weekend so we didn't get to participate in the Pawty. And now I feel really left out because everyone else got to chat with their friends and I didn't. But a few good things happened over the weekend.... First of all, Mean Sister Fig got a bone to chew. She didn't eat it all, so I managed to sneak around and get it and chew on it before anyone caught me!

I had to eat it really quickly, since I'm not supposed to have bones because of my pancreatitis and liver problems. It was SO GOOD!!! I don't even care if I have diarrhea for the next week - it was worth it!

And THEN we went to a dog park!!! I've never been to a dog park! It was crazy! Full of dogs! Running around! Peeing on things! Laying in puddles! Chasing each other! Massah didn't bring the camera because Mean Sister Fig came along too and she's mean and had to be kept on a leash and watched all the time so Massah didn't think she could take pictures at the same time. I didn't quite know what to think. I mostly wandered around looking for poo to eat (didn't find any, by the way) and smelling things. Fig kept snapping at other dogs and was being "THAT DOG", according to Massah. I think if we keep going there, we will get used to it and start playing nicely with the other doggies. However, Massah didn't pay any attention to how much sun I was getting, and I ended up getting SUN BURNED!!! Look at how RED I am!!!

Whenever I feel bad, I have to lay ON TOP OF Massah, so that's what I did all night long last night. I laid on her chest and face so that she couldn't breathe. I smashed my face into her nose. And curled my body around her neck and cut off the blood supply to her brain. And laid my body across her mouth. She thinks I do it because I want to make her as miserable as I am, but really it's because she is the only person who can make me feel better and I want to be as close to her as I can. I didn't feel good!

So we were both pretty uncomfortable last night, but I'm feeling better today - not quite the red lobster that I was yesterday. I sure hope she remembers to bring sun screen next time!

This probably won't make any sense to most people, so I'm not going to try absurdly hard to explain it, but this is for my Massah-in-law. Well, she's not really my Massah-in-law, she's more like an aunt. But I've always called her my Massah-in-law, for some unknown reason. But moving on, she's coming home today, and I get to see her tonight!!! I'm so excited!!! I missed her!!! Look at us all together a few months ago.... Note to Balboa - this is what Fig looks like a lot of the time. I'm just letting you know. She's YOUR girlfriend....

Anyway, this is for her:
I'm a SPHINX!!!!! A SPHINX!!!!!

Lola, Penny, and Sherman told us all about where they sleep, so I'm going to copy their idea (again!) and show you where I sleep! We'll get the nasty one out of the way first. When Massah is at work, I have to sleep in here - my jail.

But as soon as she gets home, I'm OUTTA THERE! After a full evening of running around chasing Fig, chewing on socks, licking the carpet, and trying to steal toys away from Fig, I crawl up on the couch and start to get sleepy.

Not long after that point, I'm ready to go upstairs to bed! I'm too scared to go up the steps by myself (they CURVE! and you can SEE THROUGH THEM!) so I stand on the third step and wait for Massah to carry me up.

While Massah is getting ready for bed, sometimes I play with my toys. A lot of times I curl up in the closet on top of dirty clothes, but Massah doesn't want to show everyone her dirty clothes so there's just a picture of me and a toy. It's my Chuck-a-Duck and Mean Sister Fig likes to play with it too. I think this is what she was yelling about in the video yesterday, actually.

Once Massah gets in bed, I have to get as close to her as I can. I like to sleep by her neck. (She doesn't know how to make faces blurry in pictures, so you're just supposed to ignore her - which shouldn't be hard because I'M there and I'm much nicer to look at.) This was before she cut off her hair... I used to chew on it like bubble gum. I wish she'd grow it back. *sigh*

Anyway, I usually end up by Fig, if she lets me. I can't get TOO close, because she'll notice, but I sneak in there as much as I can.

The first night I was with Massah, I had to sleep in a little tiny crate. I didn't really like that, but it was because we were at someone else's house and she didnt' want to "risk" me doing anything. Once we got home though - I got the bed just like Fig. Ahh... heavenly.

*evil laugh*

Hey everyone! I forgot to mention that I was nominated for Photo of the Month over at DWB! Thanks to everyone - I have 4 votes already! Hee hee! If you haven't already voted, get on over there and choose your favorite - there's lots of good ones to choose from! Here's my photo:

I know, I know. It's not my best shot, and yes, I'll concede that it's a little frightening, but you know... what can you do with humans who do weird things to your hair and then take pictures?

On to more things not quite as disturbing: I have a video of me bothering Mean Sister Fig. This is one of my favorite things to do! She LOVES to play tug-o-war with Massah, and it used to bother me that I couldn't play along (she won't let me, the mean thing). However, I found a way to involve myself and bother her at the same time! It's brilliant! While she's playing, I sneak up beside her and bite her legs and shoulder and ears! She gets so MAD at me! Hee! But she's so focused on her tugging game that she can't stop and bite me back, so I just keep doing it! It's great! You can't really see her in this video because it's kinda dark, but that's okay. You can see me, and that's all that matters!

Oh how I love to annoy her!

oh good grief

It's good to be back! It's been a little crazy around here, and Massah is still complaining about being sick. She is not a very nice sick person - all she does is lie around and whine. However, she did find the energy to cut my ear hair over the weekend. I couldn't believe it! Look at what she did to me!

It's disgraceful! Billy and I were planning on going to casting calls and auditioning for a role in CSI: Miami, but I think I'm going to put that plan on hold, because I can't go there looking like this!! The woman gave me a mullet!!

Billy went and got all beautiful over the weekend, and Massah does THIS to me. It took me months to grow all that hair out - look at how long it was getting:

And then she went and did this. I don't have much hair to begin with, so you think she's be more careful, right? Evidently not. *sigh* I miss my ear hair.

it just continues!

I'm on a naughty streak. I don't know why! I can't help myself! I ran away last night - I ran all over the apartment complex and found lots of beautiful grass to scamper through joyfully. Massah was huffing and puffing behind me. (she said it was because she's sick with a cold and can't breathe very well, but I know better. I've lived with her for over 7 months, and I've never seen her exercise.) And then when she finally caught me and brought me back to the house, I tried to eat her medicine. You can't see it very well, but I poked holes all over it with my sharp little teethies.

I don't know why she bought that stuff anyway - it's gross to stuff things up your nose. Anyway, I truly feel awful about what I've done over the past 2 days. I don't know what's come over me. Perhaps it's a full moon...?

Look how sorry I am. I couldn't even look her in the face. I'm properly ashamed of myself.

I don't have any pictures today, because Massah's camera ran out of batteries. Now, she has 4 seperate pairs of batteries that she can recharge at any time, so there is no reason to run out of batteries, but she did. Silly girl. I guess it's good that the camera wasn't working last night, though, because I did something kinda naughty. I pee-peed on the carpet. I don't know why. I just walked right up to Massah and pee-peed directly in front of her. I haven't done that for a LONG time and I'm very sorry. But I'm not even 1 yet, so I shouldn't get into too much trouble, right?

my sister

A couple of you saw Mean Sister Fig's journal yesterday. I told you she was crabby. And here's more proof of how mean she can be. I was just playing with my toy box and the blankets the other night, when she comes barrelling up there and starts biting me.

Ahh. I love her. This is the latest picture of us together - from last night.

my name

Lola, Penny, and Sherman explained how they got their names in their last post, and I'm going to steal their idea and tell my own story! Although it's not very exciting or interesting. Oh well. Before my girl even contemplated getting another doggin, she was thinking of names. She originally planned to name her next dog Pea Pod or Belly or something equally absurd. However, when she saw me, I apparently did not look like a Belly or a Pea Pod. THANK GOODNESS, huh?!

The first thing that came out of her mouth was "Tadpole" for some inexplicable reason. She's very strange like that. A few days later she added "Pomegranate" as a middle name for no discernable reason. So yes, Tadpole Pomegranate is my name. And no one knows why. I guess it kinda fits, because it's a slightly weird name for a dog and I'm a slightly weird specimen of a dog.

I'm also Tad, Taddy-wack, Taddly-winks, Little Chinese Man, Taddles, and Taddy-cake. And Mister when I'm in trouble. (and T-Pole for those Prison Break fans out there....) My sister calls me IT, but that's just because she's old and crabby and mean, you know. If you want to read her story, you can check it out in her own words. I'm warming you, though - she's kinda crabby today (as usual).

sadness in my heart

We're sending out thoughts, prayers, and hopes for those involved in the tragedy yesterday.

a tiny adventure

I tried to sneak into the building over the weekend, just like I planned, but the the staff there saw me. *sigh* I thought I hid pretty well.

Somehow they knew I was there.... I still can't figure out how they found me?!

They wouldn't let me go inside, but they DID let her come to the doors to see me!

I was so excited to see her that I didn't know what to do!! I just kept wiggling and she got nervous because she thought I would wiggle away and run into the building and get in trouble. I just couldn't contain my excitement thought! Look how scared she was that I was going to get into trouble! Hee hee!

I only got to spend a couple minutes with her, but I think I cheered her up with my kisses.

Please excuse the bad pictures - it was just so chaotic because I wasn't supposed to be there and we were trying to hurry! I got a couple good licks in, though.

After that Massah wouldn't let me try to sneak in again, so I had to stay at the house while she visited. I got her back by ruining a comforter, though.

Look at the button I chewed off! It was even BETTER because the owners of the house were gone and so they get to find it when they get back! How great is that?!

Oh it was so much fun. And I sure don't feel bad about it, because Massah is the one who left me there alone. It's her fault.

That's what she gets. Can you see my satisfied expression? I think she learned her lesson. Some people gotta learn the hard way.

And now I think she broke the camera. So I hope she'll be able to figure out how to fix it. She isn't the greatest at fixing anything, so I'm crossing my paws.

this weekend

Massah is quite happy the video works; I won't tell you how long she tried to figure that one out.... Just to answer some questions about my booties - when it's cold outside (with snow and ice on the ground) my feet actually freeze (literally!) and I can't walk around. So Massah thought it would be a great idea to get some shoes for me. Ha. As you could see, I refuse to wear them. And Luckie was right - she could only get TWO on me in the first place, and I took one of them off right away! She still hasn't figured out how to keep them on me yet, so if you have any suggestions KEEP THEM TO YOURSELF because I don't want to wear them. Harumph.

Anyway, on to happier things. Massah is going to visit some of our family this week who is sick. I've been told that dogs are not allowed in there, and I don't think that's fair. So I packed my bag anyway and am at least traveling with her (Mean Sister Fig is coming too). I think I might just be able to sneak into the building - I've hidden in Massah's sweatshirt before, so I'm gonna try that again. Mean Sister Fig is way too fat to hide anywhere, so she'll have to stay behind at the house. But I can be pretty sneaky. Hopefully on Monday I'll have some pictures of the successful adventure! Just have to make sure everything is in there...

All right - I'm good to go! Wish me luck!

testing, testing....

Massah is trying to figure out how to put videos on here... we'll see if it works!

exposed: my trusting nature

I feel betrayed. Slighted. Used. I have been rebuffed. Snubbed. Rejected. Treated with complete disregard. With scorn. With indignity. My ottoman pushed me off TWICE last night. Can you believe it?! Shoved me onto the floor without a second thought! After all that time together. *sigh* So many good memories....

I have been wronged. I am vexed. And outraged. What an affront.... I don't know if I can ever trust it again. It's disgraceful.

Massah keeps telling me that I fell off by myself. How ridiculous. I know how to sit on that thing! I've done it for months without any incidents. It has it out for me for some reason. Maybe it's teaming up with Mean Sister Fig to keep me off. Need to think about this....

Wednesday, April 11, 2007

I'm a tad bit sad (get it? TAD bit? hee...) because all of my family and friends are gone. Massah is lonely too. I don't think Fig really cares, because she's really selfish. Massah says some people are just on vacation and will be back soon, but others are sick and will be gone for a while. I don't understand why everyone had to leave at once. Massah says stuff about when it rains it pours, and I don't know what she's talking about, but I DO know that it's not only raining outside right now, but it's POURING and I don't like to poo outside when it's raining so I also have a tummy ache from holding all that poo in my bowels because I refuse to deposit it outside until it's dry. I think I'm just having a bad day and feeling sorry for myself. We're all entitled to do that once in a while, right?

my treats

I have something wrong with my stomach and have to eat special food from my vet'narin and can't have any kind of people food - "AT ALL" Massah says - and all kinds of drama like that. Poo, I say. BUT - one great thing about it that I get BABY CARROTS for my treats!!! Glorious sunshine, I love those things!!! Here is the miraculous baby carrot dispenser that resides in our kitchen. I haven't figured out how to open it yet.

Massah just says, "there is nothing to eat in this house" and then pulls stuff out of it. Believe me, I've tried that but that hasn't worked for me. But when she does it, this is what happens!! Look at all those delightful baby carrots!

Mean Sister Fig gets other treats - she says Massah bakes these specially for her because Massah loves her more. But I think I'm specialer because Massah buys these especially for me at the grocery store.

Either way, I LOVE my baby carrots! I can do one trick (yes, only one...) but I can do it really good, if I can get baby carrots. Look at me sitting pretty!

Happy East...zzz...zzz...zzz...

Oh my. I've had a very tiring Easter weekend. I don't have the energy to even tell you about it right now. Hope everyone had fun... I'm catching up on my sleep!

I'm not quite ready to wake up yet....

Thursday, April 5, 2007

I'm so excited! I get to be in Lola's band! It's called The Howling Jowls! I don't have cool big flapping jowls like her, but I'm really good at howling! Lola is on electric guitar, Bella is the lead vocalist, Peanut is the drummer, and Wally, Cubby, Wimsey, and Doofus are in it too! Lola said I get to play bass guitar!! I didn't get around to actually practicing the bass guitar last night, but that's okay. I'm naturally talented when it comes to music, I'm convinced of it. I'm the best and loudest singer in our whole building so I'll pick up bass guitar really quickly, I'm sure. Anyway, I didn't get around to practicing because I was trying to decide on my "look." I came up with a few possibilities. The first is my "hard core" rocker look.

I can do several hair styles with this one.

And my shirt says Tough Guy on the back. We didn't get a picture of that. But it's really cool. Because I am a tough rocker guy.

I've noticed that some bands wear weird shirts and mix-n-match things and wear hats, so I combined this shirt:

with this hat!

What 'cha think?

And some bands go for the preppy look. I can do that too!

I was really into posing for Massah at this point.

I kinda like this one, if I do say so myself.

And we tried one more hair style. (Look at jealous Mean Sister Fig - ha!)

I just don't know what I like best! But I do have my own agent.

And I even come with a ready-made groupie! (Look at her fat neck roll - ha!)

Thanks so much for letting me join you guys! Let me know what look will fit in the best!
